The qute gerbil and hamster cage

As a gerbil owner I want the best for my little furry friends. Their current cage has ample space and plenty of room to dig about and natural wooden toys to nibble away and a solid wheel so they can run all night if they want to without the risk of tails getting caught. However I have one problem, our new kitten loves to watch them however I am now unsure of the safety of their cage as it has a deep plastic base but has bars across it, my gerbils love to sit quite high up the cage and often tails poke through the bars, so I decided to look out for a gerbil cage where they can really be part of the family and have no risk of being played with by our kitten. And additional to this the current cage is very difficult to clean out for me because I have M.E / CFS. I found this!

My personal experience and opinion of this cage.

This cage is a great product, in my personal opinion as it gives your gerbil a large area for digging (and leaves very little mess as the sides of the plastic container on the bottom are tall) and also it gives your gerbil the healthy surrounding of a wire cage feeding area (which allows the debris from eating to fall into the plastic tank beneath).

Additionally I have a cat who loves watching my gerbils busy themselves in the cage. The cage is VERY safe for gerbils, and my cat cannot get to them or open the cage in any way, it is very strong and very well made.

Quality of this product.

There is only one issue which I have found is not even with the cage itself. The issue I have is the wheel which came with it, has become off-balenced and make a racket and shakes a lot when my gerbils go for a long run. This can be easily solved though with cooking oil to lubricate the wheel from the outside (so the gerbils do not lick it). The cage is VERY well made, with very very good quality materials, its sturdy and an ideal cage to have in your home. Its a very beautiful cage to look at, and gives your gerbils the perfect home to live in, while being part of your home itself.

Ignore what idiots say about this product.

I have heard some stupid person in a YouTube video saying "your gerbil WILL get bumble foot if they are in this cage" this person is a complete idiot. I have had this cage for a long time now and my gerbils feet are actually looking healthier than ever! Gerbils will spend most of their time at the bottom of this cage digging in the sawdust or home-making, and "bumble-foot" only occurs when a rodents feet are CONSTANTLY on wire bottomed cages, this cage does not give your gerbil "bumble foot").

The Qute Gerbil & Hamster Cage

This is the Qute Gerbil and Hamster cage, this version comes with a storage drawer to keep all your gerbils food, bedding, sawdust, extra toys and vitamins. As an additional bonus the clear plastic section at the bottom just slides out after you pull the tube up so that the gerbils can stay in the top section while you clean out their sawdust digging drawer. The whole unit is tall enough so that my kitten won't be able to pull tails through the bars if they poke through and it comes with several accessories including water bottle, wheel, food bowl, and movable tube for easy cleaning. As its a solid unit and basically a piece of furniture it will be a great addition to our home.
